When you purchase natural skin and haircare products from Soapinapouch, you are helping to support the Elena Jasmir Lozada memorial fund. The Elena Jasmir Lozada memorial fund was started in memory of my daughter Elena. Elena was the victim of a homicide in 2010. She had mental health illness and battled with addiction. Elena was recently discharged from a rehab at a hospital in Portland, Maine before she was murdered, and wanted to change her life. She was missing for nine months before her remains were found. When they were found, analysis found that there was no recent drug use in her system.

Elena had hopes of continuing her education and wanted to start a program to help young woman who had the same issues she struggled with one day.  We started a fund at Northern Maine Community College to start the process of fulfilling her dream. It is a fund that benefits students who struggle with mental health illness and need limited assistance.

Five percent of purchases are contributed to this very needed fund which encourages students to continue their education so they can have a better life.
